In this, the first issue of
Human Resourcefulness, we thought that we’d
take the opportunity to update you on the latest developments
and the revised structure here at Digby Morgan.
The company has continued to evolve
as it has grown and we are keen to continue to adapt
our business in order to provide comprehensive coverage
of the HR market. Our vision is to provide resourcing
solutions for all our clients’ needs –
globally, at all levels and on a variety of terms.
From permanent appointments through to a variety of
interim and flexible arrangements that are becoming
increasingly popular, and necessary, as the commercial
realities placed on today’s businesses continue
to demand complex HR solutions.

Digby Morgan’s focus remains clearly in the
middle and senior level search, selection and contingent
search market. We have re-structured the company in
order to reflect the coverage of our business and
have two separate divisions. The City division focuses
on our financial and professional services clients
and our Commerce division covers a broad range of
sectors including technology, fmcg, leisure, pharmaceuticals,
energy, telecommunications and retail.
The
continued demand for interim staff prompted us to
establish HR Interims. A wholly owned subsidiary,
this company was formed in 2001 and provides temporary
and interim staff at all levels. HR Interims is now
firmly established as a leader in the interim market
and has grown this year by in excess of 50%.
Increased
demand by our clients to provide HR staff from graduate
to middle level on a contingent basis resulted on
the creation of a further subsidiary company, HR Resourcing.
Working closely with Digby Morgan clients across all
sectors, this market is very different to the middle
and senior level space that Digby Morgan occupies,
and the logic behind creating this business was to
reflect this differentiation. It’s also proved
to be an excellent business within which to develop
our own graduate trainees under the Digby Morgan Associate
Programme.
Internationally
we are pleased to report that Digby Morgan is expanding
its coverage around the globe through strategic relationships
with independent HR specialist organisations. For
instance, a particularly strong alliance is with HR
Partners in Australia (see the separate article in
this issue). We have worked in close partnership with
the organisation for seven years now and it has provided
an excellent platform to meet clients’ HR needs
throughout the rapidly developing Asian markets. It’s
also proved an opportunity to gain access to a unique
pool of HR talent throughout Australasia.
