| Welcome
Europe’s
leading specialist executive search, selection
and human resources consultancy joins forces
with one of the World’s largest recruitment
groups!
In genuine
‘hold the front page’ style,
I’d like to welcome you to the latest
issue of Human Resourcefulness with
some hugely exciting news. Digby Morgan, the
company that I founded 18 years ago and that
is now widely acknowledged as Europe’s
premier HR recruitment consultancy, is joining
forces with Vedior, the Amsterdam-based global
leader in recruitment solutions.
This is great news for all concerned
and very much the beginning of a fantastic new
chapter for our company. We shall continue to
build our brand, our focus and our absolute
commitment to offering both our staff the greatest
possible environment in which to progress their
career and our clients and candidates the highest
possible levels of customer service, delivery
and professionalism that they have come to expect
from Digby Morgan.
My fellow executive director, Alistair Cook,
and I are absolutely delighted about how this
will influence the future of the company we’ve
built and are extremely excited to be joining
Vedior’s expanding family of international
brand leaders. We strongly believe that the
resources, expertise and support of our new
parent will be the catalyst in accelerating
the development of Digby Morgan in new and exciting
ventures on a national and international scale.
Business as Usual
However, it remains, of course, very much business
as usual. This is the third and largest issue
of our newsletter to date and reflects, I believe,
the burgeoning market for HR professionals.
If it ever went away, the war for talent is
back with a vengeance and the demand for top
talent is as acute as it’s ever been!
And, in fact, we take a look at the latest HR
trends and issues that are in demand in separate
articles in this newsletter.
Aside from the exciting news I’ve already
mentioned, Digby Morgan continues to grow apace
in order to meet this demand for HR talent and
the company now boasts over fifty members of
staff. You’ll see a short article in this
issue introducing yet another group of new faces
at Digby Morgan – including the appointment
of Gordon Whyte to head up HR Interims, our
interims division. By definition, our continuing
growth is naturally a direct reflection of the
growing influence and appreciation of the HR
role in corporate life today. Which is good
news for all of us!
What’s on the Agenda?
In this issue we’ve got a range of fascinating
articles for you to enjoy. These range from
an examination of the role of intuition in the
recruitment process to an in-depth look at that
thorny subject of talent management and my thoughts
and opinions regarding that other contentious
issue, recruitment process outsourcing. As you’d
imagine, we have some firm views on these subjects
and, in line with our policy of continual review,
I’d welcome your feedback and comment
on any of the articles in this newsletter.
In addition, we’re delighted to feature
a case study highlighting how we are helping
clients – and candidates – further
establish the growing influence of the interim
in the HR industry (in this instance, at the
international communications group, COLT) and
we also take a look at the results of our latest
survey on ageism.
As mentioned, we welcome any feedback, ideas
or opinions and, if you have any specific questions
regarding the announcement of our new relationship
with Vedior, please don’t hesitate to
contact me directly. In the meantime, I trust
you’ll enjoy Human Resourcefulness.
