Having
seen steady growth over the last three quarters,
Digby Morgan’s Reading office remains
optimistic about the challenges ahead. Andy
Montgomery, who runs the Thames Valley office,
expands further.
The last quarter has been an
exciting time for Digby Morgan in the Thames
Valley. In what is traditionally a fairly quiet,
holiday season period, we have seen the number
of active roles received rise again during the
last three months for the third quarter in a
row! What is also encouraging is the number
of roles within both the recruitment and the
learning and development fields - two areas
traditionally hit very hard when companies are
forced to cut costs.
It becomes too easy on occasion to talk about
the economy and the challenges in front of us
rather than the positive strides forward that
we have made over the past quarter. However,
the commitment and hard work by the team has
certainly paid dividends. During the last three
months we have made further inroads into the
western end of the M4 corridor expanding our
presence and our client base in the region.
Our commitment to being based within the region
has certainly been received very favourably.
Another key development latterly has been the
continued growth of the interim market. An increasing
number of clients are coming to appreciate that
professional interims don’t simply offer
the opportunity to cover periods of absence,
such as maternity, but also bring significant
and often invaluable experience which can be
crucial during periods of change or challenge.
As we enter Q4, we are also nearing our second
anniversary of being based in the Thames Valley.
It’s pleasing that during a time of economic
challenge, we have not only seen growth but
have also built some outstanding long term relationships
which will stand us in good stead for the future.
Finally, a criticism levelled at many recruitment
organisations is the high turnover of consultants.
With that in mind, I’m delighted to report
that our founding team is still in place here,
and in addition, we have also added two new
consultants to further expand the business.
The knowledge and relationships we’ve
built during our formative years here in the
Thames Valley will continue to flourish as we
continue to grow.
