Another extremely worthy cause that is close to the
hearts of many of the Digby Morgan team is a fantastic
charity called Parents for Children. A London
based charity, Parents for Children’s primary
aim is to find permanent homes for children who have
profound emotional, learning or physical disabilities
across the UK.
FIn support of this fantastic cause Digby Morgan
enjoyed a brilliant, albeit rather wet, day at the
London Mazda Triathlon. Digby Morgan entered three
teams of ‘elite’ athletes in the team
event and each member of each team had to undertake
one leg of the triathlon. This consisted of a 1.5km
swim in a rather cold and murky looking Thames and
a 40km bike ride and a 10km run in cold and windy
conditions.
All three teams battled their way magnificently through
the wind and rain to the finish line and one team
in particular (Laurel Wise, Jono Venter and Guy Barnes)
were overjoyed to win a trophy awarded to the best
team competing in support of Parents for Children!
To cap everything, the event raised an absolutely
fantastic £5000+ for Parents for Children. Well
worth the slightly sore legs the next day!
