Faces at Digby Morgan |
Digby Morgan continues to expand and several
new faces can be seen in the company’s offices
as it adds experienced senior consultants and a new,
autumn intake to its graduate recruitment programme.
Digby
Morgan has made a couple of senior and strategic appointments
in its Commerce and Public Sector teams. Bringing
more than 15 years of recruitment experience with
her, Kate Mulhall has joined the
company from Hays Executive where she spent the last
four years focused on executive search assignments
for senior HR professionals in the public sector.
Prior to joining Hays, Kate spent the previous decade
with Michael Page where, latterly, she managed the
strategy and consultancy team focused on change and
organisational development professionals.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Digby Morgan
at this exciting period in the company’s growth,”
commented Kate, “and am looking forward to helping
further establish the company’s profile as the
premier recruiter of HR professionals in the UK public
sector.”
A
second senior consultant has also joined Digby Morgan’s
commerce team. A graduate of the University of Birmingham,
Isobel Campbell is another ex-Hays
employee having spent the last ten years with the
company. She started her career with Hays in the Birmingham
office before moving to central London where she concentrated
on both large corporate and SME clients in the commercial
and financial services sector. At Digby Morgan, Isobel
will be focused on servicing clients’ HR staffing
requirements across several commercial and industrial
areas with a specific focus on the FMCG and telecommunications
sectors.
Commenting on her appointment at Digby Morgan, Isobel
said: “Having worked in the recruitment industry
for some years, I’ve been more than aware of
the leading position held by Digby Morgan within the
HR sector. Its longevity and continuing success is
hugely impressive and I’m delighted to be joining
the company and look forward to helping take the company
forward in the next phase of its growth.”
Nicola Grimshaw, Digby Morgan’s director
running the Commerce and Public Sector teams, added:
"Kate and Isobel are joining us at a very exciting
time in our development. Despite much media speculation
to the contrary, 2008 continues to be extremely busy
with many clients working on expanding their HR teams.
This demand means that we’re looking at another
record year and we’re delighted to welcome Kate
and Isobel to the team at this time. Their specific
experience will be a real asset and we’re fully
expecting to exploit their extensive experience to
boost our profile still further.”
Several new faces have also recently joined the company’s
graduate recruitment programme which continues to
go from strength to strength.
Charlotte
Bell read Psychology with Sociology at Roehampton
University where she was a keen rower and club captain.
Looking for structure and commercial experience in
her first job, Charlotte had been pointed in the direction
of HR and recruitment and subsequently applied to
attend the Digby Morgan Graduate Assessment Day.
“My initial reaction at the Assessment Day was
wow,” said Charlotte, “and my impressive
feelings were reinforced when I met the whole team
afterwards. I had been to a few assessment days but
none had been so structured, positive and honest.
Digby Morgan ticked all the right boxes and I feel
that my ambition for progression and success is fully
supported by the whole company.”
Adam
Fullwood studied Geography at Loughborough
University. “I was looking for a career,”
commented Adam, “that would constantly challenge
me to achieve. Having played sport to a pretty high
level at university, that’s something that’s
important to me. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part
of strong teams at University and wanted my new role
to be based in a team that relied on constant interaction.
I was also looking for a dynamic role that offered
diversity and a constantly changing and challenging
environment and HR recruitment would seem to fit the
bill.”
Kate
Blunt read History at the University of Newcastle
Upon Tyne but, knew that she didn’t want to
be a historian and that a career in sales would be
more challenging and rewarding.
“I had been successful working part time in
sales during my time at university,” Kate said,
“and thrive in a target-driven environment.
After researching potential career paths, I decided
that recruitment would be the ideal option as it combined
my passion for sales, people contact and relationship
building. I initially joined a recruitment consultancy
specialising in the IT and investment banking sector
and, although I loved recruitment, I felt my personality
was not suited to the IT industry and that HR would
be a much more interesting area to work in. I’m
thoroughly enjoying it and have found, for instance,
that successfully matching a candidate's personality
to the culture of an organisation gives me great satisfaction.
Flora Summerfield graduated from
Edinburgh University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences
but, after much investigation into the fields of pharmaceutical
research and sales, decided that although she’d
thoroughly enjoyed her degree course, she didn’t
want to make it a career. Recruitment had been mentioned
on more than one occasion and, having researched the
options, the graduate recruitment programme at Digby
Morgan was recommended to her.
“The entire application with Digby Morgan was
straight forward and incredibly friendly,” Flora
said, “and, although I had applied to several
other recruitment agencies, by the end of the assessment
day I knew that this was where I wanted to work. The
inherent friendliness and happiness of all the employees
I met combined with the company’s excellent
reputation made me very keen to join the team. The
fact that it deals exclusively with the HR industry
means that the scope for speciality within the discipline
is high and the broad base of high calibre clients
that Digby Morgan has will hopefully allow me to develop
a wide commercial awareness.”
