Morgan’s Broadway Partnership |

Digby Morgan is delighted to announce that it has
extended its links with the charitable sector through
a new partnership with leading homelessness charity
Broadway.
Broadway is a particularly good match for Digby Morgan
given its focus on excellence and best practice in
HR within the charitable sector. Such is its recognition
within the charitable sector, that Broadway’s
HR department itself now offers HR training, support
and consultancy to other charities and has won a string
of accolades and awards during the past few years.
These include The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies,
Best Companies to Work for, the HR Excellence Awards
and the 25 Most Influential in HR. Additionally, Broadway’s
HR director, Helen Giles, was recently awarded an
MBE for her services to homeless people.
Digby Morgan will work with Broadway to offer it support
and professional counsel with its HR service. As a
result, Digby Morgan will enable Broadway to meet
its targets and continue its mission to improve HR
practice across the whole charity sector.
Broadway’s excellent reputation has been earned
as a result of an innovative and personal approach
to all their work – both in HR and in providing
services for homeless people. One particular project,
with which Digby Morgan will be involved, is Broadway’s
‘Leading Places of Change’ scheme which
will be delivered in partnership with Communities
and Local Government. Broadway was asked by Central
Government to devise and deliver a recognised vocational
qualification for hostel managers. This follows investment
from the Government in hostel building, the idea being
to create inspirational spaces which motivate people
to make positive changes in their lives. Broadway’s
training programme is intrinsic to the success of
‘Leading Places of Change’ and encourages
managers to become real instigators of positive change
within their organisations. No easy task considering
many have been working in the same way for years.
Broadway’s Deputy Director of HR Richard Banks,
who developed the training, said: “We’re
absolutely delighted that Digby Morgan has agreed
to support us – and specifically with this programme.
For those being encouraged to change their working
practices it will undoubtedly be very helpful to have
a corporate and commercial perspective of those who
have experienced real change within their organisations.”
Digby Morgan’s CEO, John Maxted, who, along
with other senior company managers will be involved
in this programme and will lead relevant workshops,
said: “we’re thrilled to be working with
Broadway on this programme. Homelessness is still
such a huge issue in this country so I’m delighted
that we can make a relevant, professional contribution
above and beyond the usual donation of funds and,
in addition to this specific project, many of the
Digby Morgan team will voluntarily be donating their
time and efforts in many other ways to support the
charity with events, collections and the like.”
Broadway is a leading homelessness charity working
directly with 3,000 vulnerable individuals in London
each year. Through its training and consultancy work
with local authorities and smaller homelessness organisations,
it indirectly supports an additional 10,000 homeless
people throughout the UK. Broadway also runs a subsidiary
company called ‘Real People’ which offers
training and consultancy service to improve HR practices
within smaller organisations.
