-The
JP Morgan Chase Challenge |

An enthusiastic - albeit somewhat naïve - group
of Digby Morgan consultants thought it would be fun
to enter the 31st JP Morgan Chase Challenge. One of
those consultants was Alice Venner who lived to tell
the tale.
“Arriving full of vigour and enthusiasm
in a sunny Battersea Park we rubbed shoulders with
12,930 participants from 302 companies waiting for
the race to begin.
“About three minutes after the starting gun
was heard we finally made it over the starting line
and set out on our leisurely 5.6km run round the park.
In truth it was that final 0.6km that nearly finished
some of us off but happily all 20 consultants who
started also finished. The first of our contingent
crossed the line a mere nine minutes behind the race
winner who finished in a record breaking 16 minutes
13 seconds - so a little more training is required
if any of us are to get close to this time next year!
“With everyone safely over the finish line in
a somewhat respectable time we thoroughly enjoyed
a celebratory packet of sweets and retired to the
local pub for a drink!
“The JP Morgan Chase Challenge is run in several
cities around the world in aid of a variety of good
causes and, by running in London, we were supporting
the good work of SportAid. It was a great event to
be part of and a fantastic experience for us all.
No doubt heavily fueled by the post-race adrenaline
and celebratory drinks, many of the team have promised
to participate again next year.”
