The
Digby Morgan team is delighted to support the charitable
sector in many ways and one such charity is the leading
adoption and fostering agency, Parents for Children.
Parents for Children is an adoption and fostering
agency that has, for over 30 years, been working to
find loving homes for children with complex mental
and physical needs. Since 1976 it has placed over
280 children in permanent family homes where they
have been able to flourish and experience a childhood
to remember.
2009 is promising to be an exciting year for Parents
for Children with a fantastic programme of events
and conferences already confirmed and Digby Morgan
is delighted that once again it will be lending its
support to the charity.
After the success of last year, Digby Morgan will
again be entering teams for the London Mazda Triathlon
which is a fantastic event that is both an exhilarating
challenge for the individuals concerned and a superb
fundraising opportunity. Digby Morgan will also be
hosting a new event in the form of a pub quiz which
it’s fully expecting will become a regular,
fun filled addition to its calendar of events. In
addition, many of the Digby Morgan team will be volunteers
at the charity’s summer party which will be
a wonderful chance to actually meet the children and
families they are currently helping.
Parents for Children’s core work is finding
families for children who can otherwise become lost
in the care system. To help it find families, it is
lucky to have the support of the Daily Mail and Mail
on Sunday who on occasions feature specific children.
Fundraising is essential in order to enable the charity
to continue the valuable work it does and it looks
for the support of friends, families, colleagues and
the general public to get involved and help raise
as much money as possible.
In addition to the London Triathlon, the charity will
once more be back in the Lee Valley Park for its annual
‘2GO’ Race Series. This year ‘Three2Go’
will be held on Saturday 12th September with races
including a trail marathon and a 5k and 1k run. It’s
a great day for the family with races for all ages
and abilities and a Family Festival completing the
day on Hackney Marsh.
If you are interested in entering or helping at one
of the events or perhaps you are already involved
in a challenge of your own and would like to raise
money on behalf of Parent for Children, they’d
love to hear from you at info@parentsforchildren.org.uk
