-New Faces at Digby Morgan

In order to cope with the ever-increasing demand for talented HR professionals, Digby Morgan has made further senior and strategic appointments across the board in its City, Commerce, Resourcing and Interim divisions.

Vandra Power, a native Australian who’s been living and working in London for the last 10 years, joins the company having spent several years working for leading City institutions. Vandra was with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance for four years as an experienced hire and graduate recruiter and then worked for the National Australia Bank and, latterly, spent two years as a recruitment manager with HSBC Corporate Investment Banking & Markets.

“I’m extremely excited about this next stage in my career,” Vandra commented. “Without a doubt, moving from an in-house to an external consultancy role will be a challenge but its one that I relish and I’m thrilled to be joining a market leader such as Digby Morgan.”

Dona Battat, the Digby Morgan director responsible for the City division, said: "Vandra joins at an incredibly exciting time in our development and we fully anticipate that her immense experience of HR recruitment issues in the Square Mile will prove invaluable. The City is going through an extraordinary and sustained period of growth and, with the current insatiable demand for good HR people with a growing range of HR skills, we are anticipating even greater expansion as the year unfolds”.

Commerce Division

Business has been equally brisk across all of the company’s operating areas and a further strategic appointment has been made in Digby Morgan’s Commerce division with Liz Parsons joining from Reading-based, The Spencer Group. Prior to that position, Liz spent some years with Hays.

“I’m really excited to be joining Digby Morgan during such an exhilarating period in the company’s growth,” added Liz, “and I’m looking forward to exploiting all of my skills and experience to help reinforce its position in the Thames Valley HR recruitment sector.” (See separate story re: Regional UK Expansion).

A further new recruit to the Commerce team is Iain McAdam who joins the team from Woodhurst, a boutique management consulting recruitment firm, to increase Digby Morgan’s profile in the consulting sector. Iain brings with him several years’ recruitment experience and has extensive experience of recruiting Human Capital Consultants into both consulting firms and internal Change Management and Organisation Effectiveness roles.

“2007 continues to go from strength to strength for the Digby Morgan Group and the rapid growth of both our City and Commerce divisions is testament to what we fully expect to be another record year,” added company CEO, John Maxted. “Now, as part of the Vedior Group, we are well placed continue our growth in London as well as developing our business nationally and internationally and our recent announcement with regards to the acquisition of our Australian affiliate is testament to our ambition and commitment to make Digby Morgan a global brand in HR recruitment.”

Interim Market

Things have been just as exciting in the interim HR market and Digby Morgan has made further strategic appointments in its subsidiary interim company, HR Interims.

Liz Turner has joined HR Interims as a consultant handling senior level placements and brings a high level of commercial acumen, strong relationship management and recruitment skills to the senior team within HR Interims. Liz has a wealth of experience within the recruitment market having previously held management roles with Phee Phar Jones and, latterly, with Conde Nast in an in-house account management position.

A graduate in Human Resources, Ros Howard has also recently joined the HR Interims team at Digby Morgan from a leading financial services provider where she gained extensive experience in the interim recruitment of mid to senior level positions.

Gordon Whyte, Head of HR Interims, said: "Liz and Ros have joined the team at a very exciting time in our development. Last year we grew our interim business by over 25% and now, half way through 2007 with the continuing insatiable demand for good HR people on a temporary and contract basis, we are on track for even greater expansion”.

“I’m delighted with the ongoing growth of our interim business,” added company CEO, John Maxted.

“This is all down to the quality of our people and now, as part of the Vedior Group, we are continuing the growth of our interim and permanent business not only in London, but nationally and internationally through the Vedior Group’s global network”.

Finally, two new junior consultants have joined the company on its graduate training programme.

Secondly, Jenny McColl has joined HR Interims following graduation in Social Psychology from Loughborough University.
